Medieval Era

The Medieval era of philosophy is often further sub-divided into these major historical periods:

• Medieval (6th - 14th Century)
• Renaissance (15th - 16th Century)

The dates are just rough guides, and the classifications rather arbitrary (for example, the Renaissance is sometimes considered to be part of the Modern era). There is obviously also a certain amount of overlap.
